anyway, slight update for quite a while
just to post stuff I've been working on recently. there isn't much to share actually but I'm trying the best I can.
here are couple of sketches for the new work I've been going about.
Sketches as in they're improper but at least I am able to use it as an impression to at least figure out what I'm drawing.
Basically, the idea is to figure out how to create a science fiction setting using materials traditional/cultural art
"Suvarnabhumi - The Golden Earth" is planned to be a compilation of short stories used to explore this basic idea. It is also a good practice to create quick short stories compared to doing one long story like Liga Prajurit.
This first short story is basically about how a certain wisdom is put into a robot because its master is without a heir to pass it down to.
Here are some first attempts of it, using the previous patterns, colour themes and such. On the left is the protagonist, an investigator. On the right are two designs of one character in which I haven't decided to play as that one robot.
Now, these two aren't actually going to fight... but hey, whatever makes you happy ;) rather stiff for a showcase, it's simply just an update of the previous one of exploring more schemes as well as using the patterns to give a better texture to the clothes. I was having much fun while doing these as well, especially when exploring different costumes(albeit looking similar anyway) as well as different actual traditional dancers as reference.
Thank you for visiting!
kewlll... hey i've thought about something like this a while back, but i didn't make it happen, started with a few sketches then i'm like oh wellll (lack of motivation + busy with other stuff lol)... nice to see you've thought about it and making good progress, keep it up ^^
