ROBOTU DES

Here's another something I've been working for a couple of weeks.

One of the main antagonists that's going to appear in the new story are robots or remote controlled drones as the bad guys or lackeys and whatnot.

the idea inspired by Elysium, the one reference I really like because it features security robots that are actually looking current, as in today. I then figured out that the designs for it are mostly based on current examples and experiments of actual existing robots today such as the DARPA Atlas robot and used current tech from cpu fans to factory arms as hands and such that immediately feels very relatable.

These designs were done also in Flash and it's surprisingly very easy because of how you can split the objects apart, like layers on photoshop but with less management, making it easy to move around and such.

While there's still much to fix with it, I'm still happy how this comes out and will use as first reference until something better comes up.

PS: prolly gonna need more wires around everywhere as well as stars and stripes or something.
PSS: Also, I'm new to this robots thing so yeah.. give me time ;o;

endless tiny updates

I'm sure I haven't showed these before so here is something I've managed to finish during breaks at work.

The female on the left is the earliest, made last year around december (i think). Haven't updated it much since last finished but am reworking on the design because somehow it still doesn't work quite right just yet. She is one of the protagonists of "The Golden Earth" but is not yet used for the current short story.

The male on the right is done just today.. (surprisingly faster than usual, may I add) Perhaps because I have all the desired references ready as well as the early sketch for the character himself which makes it easy to be done directly. He is the main protagonist for the current short story.

Also, for gun nerds, yes, that is a modified Derringer Cop pistol in his hands.

Now, I just noticed myself that I've been uploading these things way too often. Reason being is that I'm still working on a lot of other stuff of the story including setting, locations and designs for other things in which I haven't shown.

The more important part is that I really wanted to create this work slowly because I wanted to make sure everything looks right and is not rushed like Liga Prajurit was. I've just realized myself as well as a lot of my readers out there who noted me of its flaws and all was mainly because I rushed and cut pages, backgrounds, details and whatnot. I was making sure I am not doing that again. Also the more reason why I haven't been keeping this blog running with weekly posts as before.

For this next work, I am very careful and even though that may cause me to miss my intended local comic competition, I think it's better for me to do this one time right.. and better.

PS: it was really really reaally fun doing these though. especially the male one because managed to realize the character from grayscale pencils to coloured flash feels great. ;)

Dancing in the rain

Could not think of proper title sooo

anyway, slight update for quite a while

just to post stuff I've been working on recently. there isn't much to share actually but I'm trying the best I can.

here are couple of sketches for the new work I've been going about.

Sketches as in they're improper but at least I am able to use it as an impression to at least figure out what I'm drawing.

Basically, the idea is to figure out how to create a science fiction setting using materials traditional/cultural art

"Suvarnabhumi - The Golden Earth" is planned to be a compilation of short stories used to explore this basic idea. It is also a good practice to create quick short stories compared to doing one long story like Liga Prajurit.

This first short story is basically about how a certain wisdom is put into a robot because its master is without a heir to pass it down to.

Here are some first attempts of it, using the previous patterns, colour themes and such. On the left is the protagonist, an investigator. On the right are two designs of one character in which I haven't decided to play as that one robot.

Now, these two aren't actually going to fight... but hey, whatever makes you happy ;) rather stiff for a showcase, it's simply just an update of the previous one of exploring more schemes as well as using the patterns to give a better texture to the clothes. I was having much fun while doing these as well, especially when exploring different costumes(albeit looking similar anyway) as well as different actual traditional dancers as reference.

Thank you for visiting!

Fallen very sickly

I know I haven't updated this blog for quite a while but since the past few days I thought I could've taken some time to do some work during the weekend but ended up being very sick.

Downed with heavy fever but I'll spare the details on how dreadful it was for the past 4 days or so.

There isn't much for me to share for the weeks before because I was still doing research as well as rewriting stories and whatnot and less on actual work to show.

I have to apologize in advance if this disappoints the regular viewers.

stay tuned

Comic Fiesta Day

it has been a fruitful visit to comic fiesta today.

for all those who might be there, be on the lookout for 'Liga Prajurit' comic on sale in the 'Project F.E.A.R.' booth in B13 (premium booth)

Apologies for the late update on the location. I came late at about noon with having to wait in the longest queue ever, then finally drop the comics off at the booth. Also I had no internet at the time to quickly update on the matter.

photos will come up later. Stay tuned.
